Health and Social Care and Early Years

Health and Social Care and Early Years (HSCEY) is about helping people enjoy the best health they can, being as happy as they can, using their ability to the full and having the knowledge to cope confidently and effectively with life's changes. Almost all students can get at least (double) C grades at GCSE, or better if they are prepared to work hard and keep up with tasks set.

  • Introduction
  • Involves 66 % coursework and 2 major assignments

Year 9 HSCEY

  • Babysitting course

Key Stage 4 HSCEY

  • HSCEY is a double GCSE subject, for which there are 4 lessons per week.
  • Unit 1: Real research into effectiveness of two HSCEY settings.
  • Unit 2: Real research into the health of a real person, a production of an action plan
  • Unit 3: Understanding personal development
