Music

Music involves practical skills within the 4 areas of study. Pupils will study a wide range of music from Ground bass and variations through to present day dance music and Britpop. The pupils will compose 2 pieces based on 2 different areas of study.

Key Stage 4

Pupils are offered Edexcel specification GCSE Music

Pupils must be able to perform on an instrument OR sing. The choice of instrument is up to the pupil and can include keyboard, guitar and drums as well as clarinet, trumpet etc.

Pupils perform two pieces of their own choice - 1 as a solo performance - 30%. Secondly as an ensemble - (performing with 3 or more other pupils) - 30%.
